What non-EU residents of Guadalajara ask
With a passport from outside the EU, the visa or authorisation comes first and the TIE card after. These are the questions people in Guadalajara ask most.
Your question is not here? Put it to us.
I arrived with a work visa. What is my first appointment?
The toma de huellas, the fingerprints for your TIE. Book it in your first days here: the deadline is short, counted from the day you enter Spain.
Huellas TIE Guadalajara: which office takes them?
policia.es lists TIE issue at the Brigada on Avenida del Ejército 12. Book fingerprints and card issue for the province of Guadalajara; the confirmation names the office.
My wife is Polish and I am Moroccan. Which card do I ask for?
The card for a family member of an EU citizen. You ask for it on form EX-19, and the Oficina de Extranjería on Avenida Francia lists it.
My TIE is not ready yet. May I start working?
In most cases yes, if your visa or authorisation allows work: that permission, not the plastic card, is what counts. If your employer has doubts, ask us.
Can I leave Spain while my renewal is in process?
You can leave; it is the return that needs planning. Before you go, request an autorización de regreso, the return authorisation, from the Brigada on Avenida del Ejército.
I already live in Guadalajara but have no residence. Is there a route?
Arraigo, residence through ties to Spain, is a route the Oficina de Extranjería on Avenida Francia decides on. The rules changed in 2025, so we look at your case before anything else.
